About

Dima Ivanov (DI) is an Oslo-based artist whose work moves between art and philosophy. His practice is a long-term exploration of how form emerges from inner movement — how something invisible gradually becomes visible. Each work unfolds through an intuitive process in which line, form, and rhythm arise before deliberate thought.

Over time, this exploration led him to develop Monadic Art — a conceptual direction inspired by the principles of Invariant Becoming Theory. At its core lies the idea of the Monad: an indivisible source of potential that moves through experience and takes shape through structure.

Rather than expressing personal narrative, Ivanov approaches painting as a process of attentive tracing. Lines become records of motion; geometry becomes a quiet framework that guides orientation and meaning within the composition. The restrained monochrome palette allows subtle dynamics to surface without distraction.

His works do not offer fixed interpretations. Instead, they create spaces of stillness and coherence — environments in which viewers may slow down, observe, and sense their own internal movement reflected in form.
